Preparation

During summer months (April to September), loose, cotton clothing is recommended. On the other hand, for your winter trip to Dubai, you must-have a light jacket. In Dubai, the dress code is quite liberal; most normal clothing is tolerated provided it is modest and not too outrageous. However, With respect to the underlying values of modesty, it is best to remain covered from shoulder to at least below the knees.

If you are visiting Mosque, one is required to follow the recommended dress code. One should wear a modest, conservative, loose fitting clothing, long sleeves, long skirts and trousers. Women are required to wear the traditional dress (abaya) and headscarf (shayla) before entering the mosques.

It depends on your nationality, you may or may not need a visa to enter the country. Because for some countries there is no need of visa such as Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, while some countries particularly UK, USA, and Australia, will a get visa on arrival. However, the visa is mandatory for people who do not fall under any of the above categories.

 

You can visit Dubai throughout the year. But mostly tourists visit Dubai from September to April when the climate is breezy and salubrious.

The traditional food of the Emirates has always been rice, fish and meat.
